Low input gardening is one way that FOST has adopted as an intervention to respond to nutritional needs for children and their families, as well as their communities at large. Low input gardening is a sustainable measure that aims at adapting to climatic change through promoting the reduction of carbon emissions, diversifying crops which are heat resistant and improving soil health. Gogo Bertha Vambe, Mutotwe Farm, Ward 21, is a low input gardening beneficiary, who has since started growing some of the plants( covo and tomotaoes) using the Smart Agricultural techniques and practices they received from the District Agriculture Officer. Gogo Vambe, said that they are quite hopeful that their produce will even yield surplus crops for selling so they feel encouraged and excited!!! This project has been made possible, thanks to the support of Oak Foundation.
